Edenbrook St. Cloud seeks a dedicated and compassionate Admissions Nurse to join our team. The Admissions Nurse is critical in ensuring a smooth and welcoming admission process for new residents, coordinating with various healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The ideal candidate will uphold our commitment to excellence in patient care while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Resident Rights: Ensure privacy, confidentiality, and dignity in patient care while reporting complaints, abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of patient property.
- Safety and Sanitation: Follow safety protocols, properly use safety equipment, and maintain disaster preparedness.
- Staff Development: Attend training, maintain certifications, and participate in Quality Assurance and Assessment (QAA) processes.
- Regulatory and Certification Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations and certification requirements while actively participating in regulatory surveys and corrections.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Participate in staff and department meetings, maintain composure in job-related occurrences, and perform miscellaneous assignments as required.
Admission Process Responsibilities:
- Assist with obtaining medical history from patients upon admission.
- Enter resident information into Point Click Care (PCC), including current orders.
- Coordinate with physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate with pharmacy, lab services, physician offices, and other healthcare personnel to facilitate a smooth continuum of care transition.
- Participate in gathering information, analysis, education, and form completion aspects of the admissions process.
- Assist floor staff in completing the admission process, which may include examinations, vitals, and physical assessments.
- Assist nurse management with resident assessment, charting, and care planning as directed.
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently licensed as an RN or LPN in the state of Minnesota
- Current CPR certification.
- 2 years of experience as an Admissions Nurse is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility is preferred.
