We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic Assistant Activity Director to join our team and help enrich the lives of our residents through creative, therapeutic, and engaging activities. This individual will support the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing programs that promote well-being and enhance daily living experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, coordinating, and leading a diverse range of activities to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social needs of residents.
- Create a warm and engaging environment where residents experience joy, independence, and wellness every day.
- Facilitate group activities, one-on-one interactions, and special events to encourage participation and socialization.
- Plan and organize community outings and events that include residents, staff, families, and the local community.
- Develop and deliver therapeutic recreational programs that enhance residents’ well-being and functional abilities.
- Maintain and update a monthly activity calendar, ensuring residents have a variety of engaging options.
- Complete Activity Assessments within 14 days of admission and participate in Patient Care Plan Meetings to tailor activities to individual needs.
- Track and document residents' attendance, participation, and progress in daily activities.
- Encourage resident involvement in arts crafts, music, religious activities, educational programs, and volunteer opportunities.
- Support and empower residents in organizing Patient Council Meetings.
- Foster a welcoming and effective volunteer program to further enhance resident engagement.
- Ensure activity spaces are safe, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary materials.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Passion for working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster connections with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and engage residents in a variety of activities.
- Creative and adaptable mindset to design innovative and stimulating programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and execute multiple activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in music, arts crafts, or recreational therapy is a plus.
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior living is preferred but not required.
