Eden Site Development Inc, a leader construction company in the greater Orlando/Central Florida area searching for an experienced Grader Foreman.
This position is responsible for the safety of the crew and the safe operation of the motor grader equipment and process who will oversee a crew and as needed perform duties to include rough and fine grade finishing, spreading and mixing materials, such as base course lifts, within contract tolerances, remove or regrade old road surfaces for rehabilitation and/or new pavement, and construct new road surfaces to contract specifications and tolerances.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Must be able to operate the grader and other heavy equipment in a safely and efficiently and manage training of the staff to do the same.
- Perform daily maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks of equipment.
- Must be proficient with Grader controls and their operation including cutting grade, scarifying hardened soils for grading, grading sloped road beds, working with a grade checker to insure correct tolerances are met, and finishing base course for paving.
- Must understand and observe reference stakes and/or hand signals of other workers when necessary to achieve the specified grade and train crew staff
- Must be able to operate Grader on public roadways while maintaining full situational awareness in order to ensure the safety of both co-workers and the motoring public.
- Must be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of roadway plans and grades.
- Ability to operate Bulldozer and other equipment is preferred but not exclusionary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to understand directions and communicate effectively as it relates to the execution of the duties previously listed.
- Will report to Site Superintendent.
- Job requires lifting, squatting, kneeling, standing, and walking.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat, for 8-10 hours per day and must monitor crew to keep them safe and hydrated.
- Must be capable of maintaining situational awareness on the job site and be cognizant of concurrent operations on the jobsite in order to help maintain a safe and productive site for all workers.
