About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping-Laundry staff to join our team in the Health Care Services industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will be responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties, including cleaning patient rooms, common areas, and offices, as well as washing, drying, and folding linens and clothing. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort and well-being of our patients and staff.
Education and Experience
High School or equivalent required. Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of applicable OSHA practices and Infection Control procedures for healthcare is strongly preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and schedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of patients and GOB staff/physicians.

- Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
- Knowledge of the English language so as to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment and materials and safety and accident prevention
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Tasks/Essential Functions
- Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
- Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Replenish supplies, linens, and bathroom items.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
- Hang draperies and dust window blinds.
