ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE POSITION: Assures content and presentation of a wide range of social programs to meet the varied interests of residents, provides support in planning/presentation of programs for other persons doing presentations, participates in licensure activities to maintain regulatory compliance, and acts as an advocate for Residents and/or family members.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND POSITION ACTIVITIES:
1) Assures content and presentation of a wide range of social programs to meet the varied interests of Senior Living and Assisted Living Residents.
- Plans and designs a printed calendar of events/bulletins.
- Hosts special events throughout the year and maintains photo log documenting event participation.
- Routinely presents the majority of scheduled social programming, including program planning, preparation of materials, room set up (unless provided by maintenance), and room restoration following the event.
- Attends Resident Association meetings and participates in related announcements, problem identification/resolution, etc.
2) Provides support in planning/presentation of programs for other persons to include some staff members (primarily Social Program Assistants, Resident Attendants, Seniors ‘n Motion staff, and volunteers.)
- Assures presentation of a morning exercise/wellness program daily; various entertainment programs and/or intellectual presentations and classes periodically throughout the month; community clergy members; community organizations/vendors to design a schedule of meaningful outings throughout the year; weekly shopping trips and other types of transportation needs as appropriate.
3) Participates in licensure activities to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Achieves thorough working knowledge of all rules/regulations/requirements for licensure as related to social programs.
- After achieving licensure, maintains compliant operation of social programs/services.
- Maintains strict confidentiality as related to Resident/organizational records, projects, programs, and other types of restricted information.
- Assures cost effective control and use of physical resources (supplies, equipment) in all areas of accountability.
POSITION SCOPE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Eden Village offers care and/or services for persons aged 55 . The campus includes senior living (Garden Homes and Apartments), assisted living (Apartments), skilled care (Care Center), dementia care (Wetzel Wing) and inpatient/outpatient therapy (Therapy Center.) Position will oversee Care Center and dementia care residents.
CRITERIA FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Experience: Experience in recreation or social programming for the elderly. Basic computer skills.
