Job Summary :

The Sales Trainer is responsible for developing, scheduling, coordinating, delivering, documenting, and leading skills training for new hires and continuing education for existing staff. The objective of this position is to systematically increase the skill level of the employees through various means of knowledge-sharing and training. As part of the Sales Operation and Enablement Team, this role will support various sales operations responsibilities.

Essential Functions : Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the onboarding process for all new sales representatives and coordinating all training calendars for new hires.
  • Work with Sales team to ensure documentation of processes are in place to be able to train against processes. Partner across the organization to encourage documentation across departments to support Sales cross-functional training against inter-departmental processes.
  • Resolve current and future employee training needs, assess and improve training materials, and directly lead training sessions with employees as required.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of training sessions for the sales team, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles.
  • Create and assess competency level via surveys, quizzes, job observation, and manager feedback.
  • Conduct gap and needs analyses, in collaboration with management, to further enhance the training provided to our employees.
  • Conduct periodic recurring training for the sales team on new processes and product updates.
  • Establish processes and tools to maintain current employee training records, skills matrices, and training plans, with a focus on electronic / digital management.
  • Maintain the Sales Playbook and Sales Portal which serve as a repository for sales tools, trainings, processes, and best practices.
  • Regularly communicate updates and changes to the sales team, in partnership with the Sales Engineer, to ensure alignment and adherence to established processes.
  • Proactively create documentation and training materials for all new processes that have an impact on the sales team.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to implement standard methodologies and training.
  • Sign-off on employee competency in respective business verticals and payment types in partnership with the employee's manager.
  • Assist with the Direct Sales Support Ticketing portal, ensuring that customer inquiries and issues are addressed promptly and professionally as needed.
  • Support efforts to maintain accurate and up-to-date data within Salesforce, including data entry, validation, and cleanup tasks as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers and sales representatives, serving as a trusted point of contact and resource for their needs and inquiries as needed.
  • Actively participate in the identification and implementation of process improvements within the sales organization, driving efficiency and effectiveness as needed.
  • Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong public speaking skills. Ability to understand when to teach and when to facilitate depending on audience and content. Ability to facilitate content in an engaging manner.
  • Effective and professional communication skills.
  • Capable of adapting swiftly to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at collaborating across departments.
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Proven record of solving complex business problems.
  • Maintaining knowledge of various data analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to be proactive, follow up and follow through around regular activities along with future projects.
  • Education and Experience :

    Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Finance or Business, preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 2 years of assessing need, creating and facilitating training sessions for various levels of employees.
  • Preferred :

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with software like Salesforce and Tableau.
  • Prior Sales Experience.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with an office position that involves standing, sitting, reaching, manual dexterity to operate office machines, stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, and mobility to complete errands or deliveries.
  • May work at computer monitors for prolonged periods with danger of eye strain and muscle pain.
