Summary
The Human Resources Representative is responsible for assigned duties in the Human Resources and Recruiting functions.
This role will be expected to perform duties in the HR function and the Recruiting function on an approximate 50%/50% basis.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with local representation in corrective action, performance evaluation, new hire and employment separation processes;
- Coordinate and facilitate on-site random drug screen program(s) locally as well as remote random drug screen processes for other assigned units;
- Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to build consistent position descriptions and requirements;
- Assist with facilitation of leaves under FMLA and STD policies;
- Assist with inquiries regarding benefit plans;
- May assist with policy and procedure development and implementation;
- Assist with candidate telephone screening, interview scheduling, offer letters, pre-employment screening and records maintenance;
- May assist with candidate sourcing;
- Coordinate career fair registrations /administration and represent the company at colleges & universities to support our On-Campus Recruitment programs;
- Develop strong understanding of employment arrangements that are available through the company;
- Ensure appropriate internal communications throughout the selection, offer and hire processes (hiring managers, IT, Human Resources, Accounting);
- Assist local office managers with reports as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic or Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or the equivalent required;
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years’ related work history that demonstrates ability to engage with recruiting as well as human resources initiatives simultaneously;
- Ability to handle confidential data appropriately;
- Ability to adapt between manual and electronic processes;
- Ability to adjust to rapid changes in priorities;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Word and Excel in required and Teams preferred);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Experience in the Oil & Gas, Utilities, Marine & Terminal or engineering consulting industries preferred;
- experience with third-party drug screen programs such as client auditors and consortiums with the ability to integrate with Company programs;
- Work history that includes job description development and development of interview practices for managers;
- Strong working knowledge of the FLSA;
- Experience with Sharepoint used as company communications site and experience creating branding visuals a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Forty-hour workweek, M-Thurs 7:30-5:30 in office; flexible schedule with core hours may be discussed, Friday 7:30-11:30 work from home;
- Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private office) but may require occasional travel to other company locations;
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
