Position Overview
As an Electrical Apprentice, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the guidance of experienced electricians. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to electrical codes, and a willingness to learn the trade. You will be expected to support journeymen and foremen in various tasks while gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills.
As An Apprentice Electrician You Will
- Assist with the installation of electrical raceways, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Pull wires, mount panels, and help with electrical terminations.
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures as directed by supervisors and foremen.
- Use and maintain protective equipment and safety gear provided.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various tools.
- Help troubleshoot electrical issues and assist in repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to advance technical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
- Valid Apprentice License.
- Previous experience in electrical work.
- Works harmoniously with others to accomplish tasks.
- Expresses information clearly, listens actively, and follows directions.
- Follows instructions precisely and ensures work meets quality standards.
- Manages workload efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot electrical issues under supervision.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Working in noisy, dusty, or extreme weather conditions.
- Lifting or moving objects up to 75 lbs.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project location.
- Possible overtime and night work as needed.
- Hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, and wire strippers.
- Power tools including drills and saws.
- Electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
- Ladders, levels, and measuring instruments.
