Job Summary
Edge and Element Landscape is seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Crew Lead to oversee a team of workers performing various landscape maintenance tasks in the whole of Whatcom Count. The ideal candidate will have experience in garden maintenance, mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, and other essential landscaping duties. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of landscape maintenance workers to complete daily tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Perform and oversee lawn mowing, edging, and simple pruning according to best practices for plant health.
- Manage garden beds, including weeding, deadheading, and seasonal plant care.
- Apply organic chemicals safely and in compliance with environmental standards.
- Train team members on best practices for landscape maintenance and equipment usage.
- Ensure proper use landscaping tools and equipment.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Monitor plant health and recommend solutions for common issues
- Oversee the irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their landscaping needs and provide expert recommendations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication and quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, lawn care techniques, tree care practices, and general landscaping principles.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions is essential.
- A valid driver's license IS required for transportation to job sites.
