Job Summary
Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE) is seeking a professional, Archaeologist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in archaeological research and analysis, with at least 3 years’ experience in leading field surveys/ field crews, working with ArcGIS and GPS, and technical report writing skills. This role involves conducting desktop reviews/assessments, coordination with a team of various environmental subject matter experts, drafting Section 106 consultation, subcontractor management, conducting field survey/inventory level fieldwork, and preparing reports satisfactory for agency review.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field survey-level field investigations.
- Utilize ArcGIS and GIS technologies for mapping and spatial analysis of archaeological sites.
- Supervise field teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, including technical writing of research results.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to build comprehensive archaeological assessments.
- Engage in ongoing research to stay updated on current archaeological practices and technologies.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading archaeological field surveys/inventories and supervising field crews.
- Proficiency in using ArcGIS, GPS technology, and laboratory analysis methods.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in technical report writing.
- A background in research methodologies relevant to archaeology is preferred.
- Candidates should be passionate about archaeology and committed to preserving historical integrity through meticulous research and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Strong skills in report writing and technical writing to document research findings clearly.
- Familiarity with data collection methods and the ability to analyze archaeological data effectively.
- Preferred proficiency in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS, for spatial analysis and mapping.
