We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be adept at working with various materials, including brick, stone, and concrete. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. As a Brick Mason, you will play a crucial role in constructing and repairing structures, ensuring quality workmanship that meets industry standards.
Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry units according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements.
- Construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using various materials.
- Apply plaster or mortar to surfaces as needed for finishing.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other construction professionals on-site to ensure project alignment.
- Perform repairs on existing masonry structures as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in estimating material requirements for projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with hardscape techniques and metal stud framing is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of construction estimating practices is beneficial.
- Experience with plastering techniques is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on construction sites.
