Edge Research is a woman-owned small business that provides strategic, custom marketing research services to nonprofits, associations, foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other institutions.
Edge Research is looking for a self-motivated, energetic, and diligent team member who is interested in learning all aspects of the marketing research industry. The Research and Field Assistant is an entry-level position with a wide range of project support and management responsibilities.
Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a variety of tasks over the course of a workweek. The Research and Field Assistant will gain familiarity of and experience in quantitative and qualitative research. This position offers particularly compelling experience to individuals interested in learning how to deliver excellent client services, how to manage projects in a high-paced environment, and understanding and analyzing consumer and B2B attitudes, values, and behaviors in the following industries and areas: financial, healthcare, education, technology, philanthropy/nonprofit, and/or conservation.

The Research and Field Assistant reports to the principals of Edge Research.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
This position holds both research and field data collection responsibilities. Research responsibilities include supporting all phases of the research process for both qualitative and quantitative projects. Field responsibilities consist of assisting the Field team in prepping and implementing Edge’s data collection efforts. More specifically:
Research Responsibilities:
· Proofreading reports and presentations
· Quality control through checks and verification of survey programming, survey data, and final reports
· Support on qualitative projects including monitoring recruitment, developing quote sorts from transcripts, etc.
· Support on quantitative projects such as questionnaire review, crosstabulation development and checking, etc.
· Project management, including adding and maintaining projects in Monday.com (our project management software)
Field Responsibilities:
· Prepare surveys for fielding
· Organize our online interface for focus groups and in-depth interviews
· Support the Field team in obtaining and managing sample for quantitative data collection
· Monitor qualitative research recruitment
· Assist with managing logistics for data collection
Required Experience:
· Prior work or internship experience in an office setting
· College degree not required but extremely valued
· Coursework in statistics a plus
· Coursework or experience in survey research a plus
Required and Desired Skills:
· Brings proactive tenacity to solving problems.
· Ability to schedule tasks effectively and allocate time appropriately to meet deadlines, even when projects change on short notice.
· Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work; meticulous attention to detail.
· Capable of monitoring multiple projects simultaneously; tracks and communicates progress effectively.
· Produces well-structured and grammatically correct written materials, such as emails, reports, and presentations.
· Actively listens and engages in discussions accordingly.
· Comfortable working independently from a remote location and collaboratively in the office, as needed.
· Motivated to learn new skills and adapt to new challenges.
· High level of competency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
· Familiarity with SPSS and MS Teams is a plus.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 and is commensurate with experience. There is also bonus potential. Location:
This position is based in the Washington, DC Metro Area. Edge Research operates in a hybrid model and requires staff to work from our headquarters in Arlington, VA at least eight times per month.
The Research and Field Assistant will occasionally support focus groups and other research activities that happen outside of typical business hours of 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET.
