Originally conceived to support our structural engineering business, EDGE Software has grown and evolved over the years to support engineers both inside and outside of our walls. PTAC Engineering, LLC. has been in the precast-prestressed concrete design and detailing business since 1991. The principals of the company have 75 years of combined experience in the design and detailing of precast-prestressed concrete structures. More than 25 of those years were spent as employees of producer plants. PTAC has completed many projects of all sizes and levels of complexity using our EDGE family of software.

The EDGE platform facilitates project design, estimation, production, erection, and much more for the prestressed precast concrete industry.

Job Description

EDGE Software is seeking a full-time employee to provide support and training to customers and users. This role will encourage open communication with customers as well as technical writing and documentation, fostering greater understanding of our software suite both internally and externally. You will be expected to become a subject matter expert on EDGE Software operation and act as the face of the software team to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Create training and support materials for EDGE software
• Lead out-of-house training classes for new users
• Create relationships with customers and users to facilitate further training for power users
• Respond to customer helpdesk tickets and calls
• Provide specialized software demos to new, returning, and potential customers
• Attend design and development meetings to stay on top of developer intent with new features and releases
• Work closely with development and engineering teams to understand user needs and development capabilities.

Employee Expectations

• High level understanding of Autodesk design software (Primarily Autodesk Revit, though familiarity with Revit-adjacent tools such as AutoCAD, etc. is encouraged)
• Complete understanding of EDGE customer-facing products and services
• Ability to articulate design decisions and functionalities to users and customers
• Technical writing competency for support materials and documentation
• Willingness to create training videos and travel to customer-oriented events to represent EDGE Software interests and provide direct support to customers

Qualifications

• Required (in no particular order)
• Autodesk Revit experience
• Experience in structural engineering or modeling, even better if in the concrete/precast industry
• Communication skills
• Technical writing competency
• Interest in customer outreach and service
• Preferred (in no particular order)
• Familiarity with EDGE Software
• Experience in a similar software support role
• Bachelor's Degree or greater in a relevant field
• Some experience in professional communication either in:
• Customer facing support role
• Intra-company communication in a team setting
