We are seeking a skilled and motivated Vapor Mitigation System Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining vapor mitigation systems in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. This role involves working with a variety of equipment and technologies designed to prevent hazardous gases, such as radon or VOCs, from entering buildings. The technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of building occupants through the proper installation and functionality of these systems.
Responsibilities
Installation :
Install vapor mitigation systems, including sub-slab depressurization systems, venting systems, and vapor barriers in new and existing buildings.
Site Assessment :
Conduct pre-installation site assessments to determine the best approach for system installation based on building layout and environmental factors.
System Setup :
Ensure all components of the vapor mitigation system (fans, piping, venting, seals, etc.) are properly installed and functioning.
Testing & Calibration :
Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance :
Diagnose issues with existing vapor mitigation systems and provide repairs or upgrades as needed.
Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and any service or repairs completed. Provide reports to clients or supervisors as required.
Compliance :
Ensure that all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
Customer Interaction :
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining system functionality, and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance or improvements.
Qualifications
Experience :
Prior experience in HVAC, environmental systems, or construction is highly preferred. Familiarity with vapor mitigation systems is a plus.
Skills :
Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with hand and power tools. Comfort with electrical systems is an advantage.
Certifications :
Relevant certifications (e.g., radon mitigation, electrical, or construction certifications) are a plus.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Driving :
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for site visits.
