Part of the operation is overseeing the execution of data center network operations including core infrastructure standards, compliance, cyber security, maintenance and delivery of data center services including colocation, Carrier connectivity and deployment. The candidate will collaborate with the Security Director as well as the Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Design, maintain, and manage an enterprise-wide network infrastructure with support from internal and external teams.
- Develop overall architectural standards for local and wide area networks, wireless networks and firewall. Ensure that solutions are implemented according to standards by internal staff and 3rd party service providers.
- Maintain network infrastructure supporting multiple hyperscale data centers.
- Develop and document network standards, device templates and change management procedures.
- Ensure implementation plans, test plans, and project timelines for network projects are completed to standards.
- Contribute to the development and support of fiber, copper and cabling standards in the Data Center Facilities, MMRs (Meet Me Rooms), Telecom Closets, etc. and ensuring a neat and clean environment by all technicians and vendors.
- Work with service providers to resolve circuit issues and escalate Carrier issues as necessary.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve critical network connectivity issues. Provide senior level escalation for complex problems
- Develop and support remote hands third party contracted services throughout the portfolio.
- Manage vendor quotes for network hardware, software, remote hands, and support contracts.
- Work with business and internal partners to provide connectivity to the Edged environment using secure site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
- Implement and maintain firewall rules on Palo Alto Firewalls across the various Edged data centers.
- Evaluate current operation processes and documentation, identify areas for improvement, make recommendations, and implement approved enhancements.
- Ensure compliance (ISO, NIST, PCI and others) standards are met in respect to Network Infrastructure. Support and participate in maintaining audits in conformance to compliance requirements.
- Manage incidents in accordance with internal policies and procedures and participate in incident postmortem discussions and propose long term solutions.
- Part of on-call support rotation to provide 24 x 7 remote and executive support as required.
- Must be willing to work off-hours / weekends to support operational tasks as needed.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
Education / Experience
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Be willing to travel up to 50% to remote sites.
- Must be a self-starter able to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong written and verbal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate with customers, vendors, partners, and business managers across various levels of the organization.
- Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines.
- Strong project management skills. PMP certification a plus.
Specific Skills / Abilities
- 7 years of network engineering experience, with a minimum of five (5) years working in a senior network engineering role
- Knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, wireless devices, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with routing protocols, IP addressing and switching architectures.
- Experience with Site-to-Site VPNs and Remote Access VPNs.
- Experience with WAN deployments including design, implementation and troubleshooting of various types of circuits (T-1, DS-3, etc.), SD-WAN and dedicated internet access circuits.
- Must have experience designing and implementing and supporting high-availability network solutions and technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring, management, and packet analysis tools to monitor and troubleshoot network/application performance and connectivity problems.
- Compliance experience with ISO, NIST, and PCI is a plus.

The United States targeted base salary pay range for this position is: $150,000-175,000 bonus (this range will vary by location)
