Job Description:
The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations and processes associated with the preparation for decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, and/or the sterilization of surgical instrumentation and equipment. The Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of all reprocessing services for Pagosa Springs Medical Center. The employee will ensure that standards of operation in this area are in compliance with the standards set by all regulatory agencies.
The Supervisor must possess comprehensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment and the latest techniques of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization. The Supervisor will provide instructions for use (IFUs) and training on all products, procedures, instrumentation and equipment to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
In addition to supervising the work quality of staff within the department, the Supervisor is tasked with direct observation, performance monitoring, and providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate service standards.
The Supervisor also fulfills the responsibilities outlined in the Technician II: Certified Sterile Processing job description, ensuring all departmental operations are in alignment with hospital-wide objectives and patient safety goals.
