We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care strategies.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth for documentation and coding purposes.
- Assist in the management of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) needs for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient outcomes.
Skills
- Proficient in patient care techniques with a strong emphasis on safety and infection control practices.
- Knowledgeable in coding practices related to clinical documentation.
- Experience in managing patients with infectious diseases is preferred.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist them in mobility as needed.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- Familiarity with clinical systems and electronic health records is essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while providing care.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
To plan and provide for total patient care through the use of the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. To direct and guide patient teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current Iowa RN license
- BCLS, ACLS as indicated by the area of responsibility
- Experience preferred, but not required
HOURS:
Full-time nights. 3 (12-hour) night shifts per week. Every 3rd weekend. Holiday rotation. Hours (6:00pm – 6:30am)
Pay period: Monday through Sunday.
