Our Perioperative Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care for the pre-operative and post-operative patients. The RN can identify early signs of medical or surgical complications, through safe, effective, and continuous patient observation, while supporting the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Work in all areas of pre/post including Pre-op/Post-Op and PACU.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
- Performs and documents thorough assessments/evaluations/education of patient in
- Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment. Handles critical and highly stressful situations, reacting decisively with efficiency and composure.
- Provides nursing care in a technically complex environment.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ambulatory pre and post anesthesia patient care and pain service patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to maintain interactive/interpersonal relationships.
- Possess a good working knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and legal aspects of nursing, and techniques, care and use of equipment used in an ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Interview/communication skills, nursing assessment skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and teaching/counseling skills.
- Computer experience with Microsoft, Windows applications, and experience with health care applications such as Epic.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment with little supervision.

Experience
- Minimum 2 years perioperative (Preop/ Post-Op/ PACU) experience (Required)
- Previous experience in pain management, pediatric dentistry, orthopedics, gynecology, oral surgery, ophthalmology, general surgery, ENT, podiatry (Preferred)
Licenses or certifications:
- Current WI RN licensure required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification (required within 6 months of hire)
- PALS certification (required within 6 months of hire)
