Edgerton Contractors, a construction, and excavation company that specializes in earthwork, underground utilities, and design assist projects is hiring a highly organized and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage costs, schedules, and relationships on time and within budget. This position reports directly to the President.

Duties & Responsibilities :
Develops initial work plan and schedule for the project with the project team;
Communicates the plan and updates the plan through the life of the project; andPlans and communicates the resources for the project with project team to meet schedule and budget.Operations :Organizes, plans, communicates and monitors the safe work practices on given projects;
Approves daily field reports, checks quantities produced, prepares look ahead schedules and monitors costs and safety associated with the work;Communicates progress with project team on a weekly basis;Communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and clients during the construction process;Communicates with operations manager, general superintendent, crews and upper management during the construction process;Assists in the growth of up-and-coming foreman;Mentors younger project managers and project staff, if applicable;Seeks out and evaluates opportunities to better Edgerton's position on a given project (CRI's, waste and dump sites, thinking outside the box, etc.); andManages risk on the project.Financial :Prices and negotiates change orders with the owner / general contractor;
Monitors and communicates the financial standing to upper management;Performs cost to complete analysis monthly;Works with accounting on extra work and invoicing the client; andProject closeout quantities and payments.Safety :Occasionally step in on Safety duties as necessary.
Qualifications :
4-year degree in engineering, construction management or related degreeMinimum of 2-5 years' experience in heavy civil constructionDemonstrated accountability for their work from previous employmentStrong work ethic and entrepreneurial spiritScheduling and money management capabilitiesStrong interpersonal skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills
