Edgewater Environmental Consulting, LLC continues to grow and has exciting and challenging opportunities for HERS Raters and/or RFI Candidates. Although It is preferred that candidates be a HERS Rater or RFI, we will provide training for the right individual to pass the RFI Exam within 90 days of hiring.
This position will require travel within an approximate 100 mile radius of Wilmington, NC.
Full Job Description:
Immediate Opportunity for Energy Inspector with their HERS certification or Resnet Field Inspector (RFI). Job includes conducting building envelope and duct testing, HERS Ratings, Energy Audits, Green Certification Inspections and additional duties as required.
RESNET Certified Rater or Rater Field Verifier. We will send the right individual for training to obtain their HERS Rater Certification, BUT you must convince me you really want to learn and are detailed orientated with at least 3 years of construction experience.
At least have 3 years of Construction, building science and energy related experience are preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay is EXCELLENT but you will work for it! You must also like data entry since it is a significant portion of the job. You have to like it all or at least be computer literate enough to get the information entered into a database. The faster you are on the computer the faster your jobs are completed. You get paid per completed job. So you set your own pay, once you complete the work and it is finished correctly you will be assigned additional jobs.

Provided:
Gas card, Laptop, cell phone and all equipment to do HERS inspections and Ratings.
This position is based in Wilmington North Carolina. No relocation is provided at this time.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have familiarity with Camera/Picture Documentation
- Must have the ability to use a computer and have familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word
- Must be willing and able to work in extremely confined spaces with high temperatures typically found in attics and other uncomfortable spaces (basements and crawl spaces) which will require being able to climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and lift
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Must have the ability to work on ladders (up to 30’)
- Must be able to frequently lift and move 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be personable, well-groomed, and have the expert ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups and resolve schedule conflicts
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend technical instructions enough to be able to convey technical information in plain language
- Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Must be organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable
- Must have excellent reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, data entry management, and time management skills
- Must have General Math Skills
Education/Experience:
- 3 years of construction experience (HVAC, Residential Construction) is preferred
- Work experience in house framing, home mechanical systems, and/or general carpentry / Blueprints (helpful)
- Must be willing to obtain additional certifications/licenses as required including RESNET HERS Rater Certification
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License in good standing with an insurable driving record
- Must be able to complete a Pre-employment Background Check/Drug Testing
- Training will be provided and is required for this position.
- Vehicle mileage and fuel reimbursement is paid
Salary $35,000 , commissioned pay
