Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)-Primary Care

Position Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key executive responsible for the overall operational management of Edgewater Health Primary Care Division. The COO will ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services while optimizing operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and a commitment to improving community health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Lead and manage the daily operations of the health center, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and mission of the organization.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with the CEO and board to develop and implement organizational strategies that enhance service delivery and community impact.
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring the health center operates within its financial means while maximizing service delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards, including those specific to federally qualified health centers.
- Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at improving patient care quality and operational efficiency, including compliance with regulatory standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive improvements in service delivery.
- Community Relations: Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including patients, local organizations, and government entities, to promote health center services and initiatives and to enhance service delivery and outreach.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote best practices in healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably in a federally qualified health center or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance issues, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with community health initiatives and understanding of social determinants of health.
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare policies and funding mechanisms.
- Familiarity with health information technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
