Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Contracts Manager opportunity in Carlsbad, NM to support the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).
Work Location: On-Site at WIPP preferred. A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered.
Per Diem Is Available For Those Who Qualify.
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

Duties
- Will be responsible for the award and subcontract administration of goods, inventory, equipment, systems upgrades, and/or services required to support the WIPP site.
- Must ensure compliance with the prime contract, Department of Energy (DOE) Acquisition regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and maintain good business practices for the organization.
- Will need to be capable making critical decisions, weighing all risk factors against site requirements and schedule needs, and seeking necessary approvals to ensure exceptional acquisition performance.
- Must be able to lead a large team of experienced acquisition professionals and support personnel in addition to routine communication with federal oversight staff.
- A bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years’ experience in procurement and contract management.
- Experience in Federal Contract Management working with Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) desired, with preference for DOE experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR), and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
- Experience in obtaining DOE consent above certain thresholds for subcontract award is preferred.
- Experience negotiating contract terminations, claims, REAs.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement, negotiations, and expediting with a practical knowledge of business law, accounting, economics, and engineering practices.
- Practical skills in oral and written communications.
- US Citizenship is required.
