Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Nuclear Safety Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Fellow Nuclear Safety Engineer-

Duties

  • Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields and use other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems.
  • Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
  • Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
  • Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
  • Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers.
  • Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.

Education & Years Of Experience

  • An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience OR a MS degree and 12 years' experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years ‘experience.

Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated a minimum of 15 years of recent experience in the nuclear safety industry through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.
  • Demonstrated current experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, and related directives and standards.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work; and proficiency in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
  • Demonstrate current experience in the Hazard Analysis Process related to DSA/TSR development as called out in DOE orders and Standards.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining SRS safety basis documents.
  • Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience.

Other Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance
