Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Safety Basis Analyst 4 (USQ/TSR Training Instructor) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required
Work Location: Hybrid Position with on-site presence to instruct courses
Schedule: task-oriented work, flexible schedule
Clearance: Active DOE Q preferred, but not required
Summary
Leads and performs nuclear and non-nuclear risk and hazard analysis to ensure safe operation of nuclear and/or non-nuclear facilities. Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to hazard identification, hazard analysis, facility hazard categorization, accident analysis, selection of controls, and development of associated safety basis documents including unreviewed safety question determinations, documented safety analysis, technical safety requirements, safety assessment documents, facility safety plans, and facility safety analysis.
This resource will specifically develop and present Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirement writer training. Assist seniors in revisions to Safety Basis policy and implementing documents.
Required
Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science and a minimum of fifteen years of related experience. Equivalent education and experience appropriate for performing safety analysis work may be considered. Requires passing a review by the Safety Basis Division Qualification Review Board.

- Expert level knowledge of DOE Safety Basis orders and standards
- Qualification present or past as National Training Center (NTC) master instructor level for Unreviewed Safety Question and Technical Safety Requirements classes.
