Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Industrial Hygienist (IH) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site (SRS).
Work Location: Aiken, SC
Industrial Hygienist (IH)-
The Industrial Hygienist (IH) will provide field support for the Industrial Hygiene Program by ensuring Federal, State, Company, and Site requirements regarding exposure to potential hazards to facility personnel.
Job Duties:
- Perform field industrial hygiene evaluations.
- Demonstrate a sound base of technical knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, standards, concepts, practices, principles, and techniques programs or projects
- Experience conducting occupational sampling and monitoring in the industrial and field settings to include development of sampling plans.
- Ability to identify and quantify potential hazards/exposures.
- Perform worker exposure assessments for chemical and physical hazards.
- Prepare technical reports and procedures.
- Perform assessments of work exposures; designs and conduct exposure monitoring strategies.
- Communicate issues and results with employees and management in a professional manner.
Education/Yrs. Of Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience providing industrial hygiene support to projects through all phases of construction and demolition.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior industrial hygiene experience at a DOE site
- CIH, OHST, CHST, CHMM, or CSP
Other Job Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance. (an active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
