Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Coordinator opportunity in Eunice, NM at Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility.
Work Location: On-Site at Urenco
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
UUSA, operated by Louisiana Energy Services LLC, is the only commercial enrichment facility operating in the US, and is located in Eunice, New Mexico.
Project Overview and Objectives
This position provides general project support to the Project Manager (PM). The Project Coordinator is typically assigned to the project during start-up through close-out.
The objectives of this role include but are not limited to: general support as assigned by the PM. The Project Coordinator will be assigned to many projects and likely more than one PM. This role can be considered a prelude to becoming a Junior PM and eventually a PM.
Responsibilities:
- Meetings – The Project Coordinator will be responsible for meetings as assigned by the PM. The following meeting activities may be assigned: (1) Owning the meeting notification, revising meeting notices including staff and information edits, (2) support the PM in running the meeting, (3) taking meeting notes and sending them out to the team, (4) taking action items and sending them out to the team, (5) support the PM in managing all project actions, (6) file all meeting notes and actions into the appropriate project electronic folders.
- Project Folders – The Project Coordinator will manage all project folders as assigned by the PM. Folders will be consistent between all projects. All required documents will be housed including those requiring approval signatures. Also manage files for project impacted lessons learned, EV’s, observation tracking, action items, meeting minutes, e-mails, pictures, risk registers and all other items as determined by the PM
- Walkdowns – The Project Coordinator will accompany the project team on field walkdowns and will take notes and actions that will be disseminated to the team. If pictures are required, will be responsible for taking them, getting security/communications approval and house them in the appropriate project folders.
- Project Documents – The Project Coordinator will support the PM in development of project documents such as the PID (Project Initiation Document), URS (User Requirement Specification), SOW (Scope of work for Purchase Requisitions). This includes gaining approvals and maintaining approved versions in the project folders.
- Scheduling - The Project Coordinator will support the PM in development, management and update of the P-6 Schedule.
- Estimating and Funding – The Project Coordinator will support the Project Manager in development and revising of project estimates. This will also include development of funding authorizations (CEPs).
- Project Risk – The Project Coordinator will support the PM during development and update of the project risk registers. This also applies supporting the gathering of lessons learned and ensuring they are carried over to other projects as needed.
- Vendor Training – The Project Coordinator will support the PM in managing vendor training, working with the appropriate vendor site lead ensuring each vendor employee meets their required training due dates.
- Project Closeout – The Project Coordinator will support the project during close-out activities.
- General Support – The Project Coordinator will provide any additional project support or other duties as assigned by the PM.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 3 - 15 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work experience on commercial nuclear and/or large construction projects preferred.
- Work experience on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects preferred.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and/or other MS Office tools.
- US citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE U.S. Security Clearance. (Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance).
