Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Technical Project Manager 2 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree and a Project Management Institute certification is desired for this function and level.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in managing, leading, and operating high hazard and nuclear operations.
- Expert level experience in formality and conduct of operations principles.
- Expert level experience in nuclear operations readiness requirements with over 5 years of demonstrated LANL experience in operational readiness and startup.
- At least 5 years of Senior Supervisory Watch experience.
Desired Technical Skills
- Experience in nuclear and high hazard facilities
- DOE Experience
- Can mentor and evaluate personnel.
Summary
Day-to-day technical interface between the facility operations organization and the programmatic tenants in a facility or a collection of facilities. Assists in the day-to-day business operations functions and in the development and deliverance of facility operations-focused programs, policies, processes, and procedures in support of safe and compliant facility operations. Develops and maintains facility operations-focused programs, policies, processes, and procedures in support of safe and compliant facility operations. Duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to, providing guidance on governmental regulations and Laboratory guidelines; conducting incident and general issues management investigations and reporting; participating in or supporting readiness reviews for operations; supporting the activity approval process; developing and maintaining required operational documentation and procedural manuals; planning and budgeting; and providing other compliance and/or quality-related support functions including development of training, delivery of facility-level training, tracking and assurance of employee training; property accountability, and access control. Provides other operational/administrative support functions as required.
Job Duties
- Manages and ensures the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establishes technical requirements for the project; defines project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversees the project team in the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion.
o Projects are a set of related activities needed to produce specific products or services to meet customers’ requirements.
o Projects develop work packages that define what will be accomplished to meet specific programmatic needs and produce the work products defined by the work packages.
o Projects are finite, with a definite beginning, middle, and end.
o The customer may be an external body, such as a federal agency, or may be an internal organization within the Laboratory.
o Projects are typically a subset of, and funded by, a Laboratory program, but (rarely) may be stand-alone and separately funded.
- Serves as the ALDPS point of contact and subject matter expert related to DOE Oder 422.1, Conduct of Operations, LANL Policy P315, Conduct of Operations Manual, and ALDPS Disciplined Operations initiatives.
- Serves as the ALDPS point of contact and subject matter expert related to DOE Order 425.1, Verification of Readiness to Start Up or Restart Nuclear Facilities including planning and operational support for Pu operations startup at LANSCE as well as transition to operations for the Low Enriched Fuels Fabrication Facility
- Provides coaching or mentoring to targeted supervisors/managers in business and operations areas.
- Evaluates, reviews, or develops corrective actions associated with ALDPS Conduct of Operations or Disciplined Operations objectives.
- Reviews and provides ALDPS guidance with respect to integrated work documents (procedures and IWDs)
- Evaluate and observe ALDPS first-time use processes or new startups to ensure management expectations and compliance with safe operations principles.
- Provides training on disciplined operations and boardsmanship and supports emergency management planning, as requested.
