Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the nursing department's operations, ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care. This leadership role involves supervising nursing staff, developing and implementing care plans, managing clinical practices, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The ADON is a vital part of our nursing leadership team and will help guide our nursing staff to foster an environment that reflects our values of compassion, professionalism, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in the daily management of the nursing department.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement resident care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with audits and inspections.
- Address any concerns or issues related to patient care, staff performance, or family communication.
- Oversee staffing levels and coordinate shifts to meet the care needs of residents.
- Assist in staff training, education, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with state licensure.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, residents, and families.
- Compassionate, organized, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
