As a result, they will also be overseeing specific personnel.
Responsibilities
- Leading multi-disciplinary design teams in the execution of complex Land Development projects
- Work with the VPLD to grow a distinguished site civil engineering / Land Development focused team through internal development, recruitment and hiring.
- Coordinate and plan staff resource utilization and assignments.
- Supervising and developing staff providing guidance about career advancement as well as technical knowledge.
Lead engineering team in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications from concept to final design
- Provide guidance and mentoring to staff.
- Provide leadership direction through the sharing of techniques and problem-solving approaches.
- Hands-on design in the preparation of design plans.
- Prepare investigation reports, letters, etc., and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications.
- Preparation of Construction Cost Estimates.
- Calculations and report preparation for storm drainage, storm water management and water quality treatment systems
Perform quality review of plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Continuously review the work of the department.
- Spearhead meetings such as project kickoff, progress, and completion meetings when necessary.
- Verify schedules, ensure adherence to project plans and timelines to be met by internal and external resources.
- Collect post-project feedback to look for issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare status/progress reports and meeting minutes as required
- Proactively monitor success measures, work complete, schedule complete and budget.
- Measure and monitor project performance.
- Maintain organized records, files, drawings, or other data essential to the project and ensure they are complete and stored appropriately.
- Improve job knowledge by attending educational workshops, review professional publications, establish professional network, and participate in professional societies.

Qualifications
- •Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering
- NJ Professional Engineer (P.E.) required
- Minimum of ten (10) years related experience in A/E/C industry.
- Knowledge/experience of project management principles, practices in civil engineering land development design.
- Knowledge/experience with local and state building codes, regulations and standards, design criteria and ability to apply to work.
- Experience with NJDEP and NJDOT regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD with Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Adobe.
- Skilled in managing projects, and engineers/CAD operators
- Ability to create and finalize construction drawings.
- Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and the coordination of people and resources.
- Expertise of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, and drawings.
- Strong understanding of government regulations, OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
- Excellent management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
