Essential Functions:
- Understand and executes the guest experience model: guest expectations, service and engagement
- standards, training and guest experience.
- Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
- Assist in preregistration and blocking of rooms (if needed).
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit, check- cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
- Understand room status and room status tracking.
- Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
- Know the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property.
- Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
- Work closely with the housekeeping department in the keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
- Process guest check-outs or check-ins.
- Use proper telephone etiquette.
- Perform cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, raising paid out's, etc. See department SOP’s for full detail
- Use proper mail, package, and message handling procedures.
- Report any unusual occurrences or request to the manager or assistant manager.
- Understand that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
- Read and initial the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
- Attend department meetings.
- Maintain guest room key storage and other inventory needed.
- Know how to use front office equipment.

Qualifications / Special Skills:
- The Front Desk Agent should be an experienced customer service professional with excellent phone skills, ability to multitask and have a passion for service and hospitality.
- Must be a willing team player, comfortable with computer systems as well as communicating over the telephone.
- Hotel experience or prior work experience in a professional office environment preferred.
- Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
