General Summary:
Edgeworks strives to build responsible, independent, lifelong climbers. Instructors’ primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and fun learning environment for climbers taking classes to learn specific skills. The Climbing School Instructors report to and collaborate with the Climbing School Manager.
Core Functions:
- Maintain a safe learning environment
- Create a welcoming and inclusive space for folks new to the sport
- Teach technical skills. This may include top rope belaying, lead climbing and belaying, and rappelling
- Teach climbing technique and movement skills to climbers with varying experience and ability levels
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualifications:
- Prior gym climbing experience and top-rope belay skills
- Experience teaching climbing skills
- Indoor lead climbing experience
- Prior gym climbing experience and top-rope belay skills
- Desired qualifications:
- Outdoor rock climbing knowledge and experience
- Professional certifications, including AMGA SPI or higher, WFR, etc
