Locally owned and operated, Edgeworks has been a leader in the climbing gym industry since 2004. Together our three gyms - located in Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma - consist of over 56,000 sq ft of climbing surface and offer the greatest variety of climbing, fitness, instruction, guiding and community in the region.

General Summary: 

Edgeworks strives to build responsible, independent, lifelong climbers. Instructors’ primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and fun learning environment for climbers taking classes to learn specific skills.  The Climbing School Instructors report to and collaborate with the Climbing  School Manager. 

Core Functions:

• Maintain a safe learning environment
• Create a welcoming and inclusive space for folks new to the sport
• Teach technical skills. This may include top rope belaying, lead climbing and belaying, and rappelling
• Teach climbing technique and movement skills to climbers with varying experience and ability levels

Qualifications:

• Minimum qualifications:
  • Prior gym climbing experience and top-rope belay skills
    
  • Experience teaching climbing skills 
  • Indoor lead climbing experience
• Desired qualifications:
  
  • Outdoor rock climbing knowledge and experience
  • Professional certifications, including AMGA SPI or higher, WFR, etc
