General Summary:
The Front Desk staff provides excellent customer service to all, working to exemplify our mission to provide the number one destination climbing facility in the Puget Sound. The front desk staff are responsible for connecting with customers from the moment that they walk into the gym, and will constantly communicate with Shift Leads so that they are up to date on any and all Edgeworks policies and promotions. The front desk staff may have opportunities to grow within the company, and to be trained in a number of paths, Youth Instruction, and Adult Instruction, with potential to move into the shift leader role. The front desk staff reports directly to their shift leader, with a focus on customer experience in all aspects of the job.

- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Maintain constant and clear communication with other staff members and with the shift leader.
- Become an expert on company processes, products, software, and customer experience.
Principal Activities:
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Create a welcoming environment for all customers as they walk through the door.
- Meet all needs with a positive attitude and a willingness to help.
- Become familiar with all Edgeworks memberships, programs, products and retail offerings to the extent that the front desk staff can help customers and/or direct them to the right person or place to find further information.
- Give gym tours and orientation, and answer any and all questions customers may have along the way.
Support the shift leaders and other front desk staff, offering assistance when necessary. - Communicate with Shift Leader about front desk needs, and have a willingness to complete any tasks that are given.
- Answer phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner.
RETAIL SALES
- Stay up to date on all Edgeworks product offerings and maintain a base level knowledge about the products and brands that are carried.
- Assist customers browsing the retail department as well as customers purchasing other products.
- Be able to answer customer questions about the gear that is carried, and know where to direct them for further information.
- Maintain a clean and organized retail space both on the floor and in back stock.
FACILITY APPEARANCE
- Support the shift leader in ensuring facility cleanliness.
- Maintain a clean facility that will support the Edgeworks Mission to provide a superior facility and exceptional CX.
- Communicate with shift leader at the start and end of each shift to assess facility needs
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and outgoing personality.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Be able to work with computers, credit card terminals, and register.
- Motivation to learn and ability to think quickly.
- Have and maintain all Edgeworks belay certifications.
- Be self-motivated and able to balance multiple, simultaneous priorities.
- Experience communicating in a clear and efficient manner.
- Be ready and motivated to become proficient with an array of available climbing equipment.
Employment Status:
- Part-Time (Hours - Weekend and Weekday evenings only)
