General Summary:
The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for administrative aspects of the day-to-day operations of Summer Camps. This role is imperative to the smooth function of Summer Camp and supporting the Youth Programs Manager. Tasks may include assisting staff training, daily task completion, and similar duties under the supervision of the Youth Programs Manager. The Camp Coordinator will also be trained as primary back-up camp instructor.
Core Functions:
- Fill-in Camp Instructor: ability to cover an instruction shift with short notice.
- Maintain the daily camp instructor schedule, including calling for backup coverage.
- Support administrative duties such as: checking registrations, creating rosters, printing and compiling documents for camp folders.
- Organize T-shirts bundles, camp craft projects and rental gear
- Become familiar with all Edgeworks Facility rules and summer camp policies.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Youth Program Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Acquire and maintain Edgeworks top rope belay certifications.
- Experience handling phone calls, emails and spreadsheets (Google Suite preferred)
- Able to attend minimum required training dates of Thursday, June 19th and Friday, June 20th
- Available Monday - Friday mornings through early afternoons based on business needs. (Primary hours 8:00am - 11am)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth and/or groups.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volume of admin tasks in a short period of time.
- Self-motivated and able to balance multiple, simultaneous priorities.
- Positive attitude, takes initiative and is open to giving & receiving feedback.
- Experience communicating in a clear and efficient manner.
Employment Status and Compensation:
- Seasonal: June - August
- Part-time, 10-12 hours per week, potential for additional instruction opportunities
