Position Overview:
We are seeking a Construction Estimator with experience in asphalt, concrete, or excavation projects to join the team. This individual will play a key role in estimating costs for major heavy civil and infrastructure projects in the Chicago suburbs. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of estimation experience and be willing to contribute to a company culture that values teamwork and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt, concrete, and excavation work on road, bridge, and other heavy civil projects
- Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to calculate material and labor costs
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other teams to ensure accurate project cost estimates
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Track project costs and adjust estimates as necessary throughout project lifecycle
- Provide input into project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in estimating asphalt, concrete, or excavation projects
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, especially in heavy civil and infrastructure projects
- Must be willing to relocate to the Chicagoland area (relocation assistance considered)
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented culture
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Local candidates are preferred, but relocation assistance will be provided
