Job Overview:
One of my clients, a reputable law firm specializing in consumer protection, is looking for a Lemon Law Attorney to join their growing team in Los Angeles. The firm is seeking candidates with 2 to 5 years of experience in Lemon Law, consumer protection law, or a related field, but is also open to attorneys who are eager to develop their career in this specialized area of law. This is a fantastic opportunity for motivated attorneys passionate about consumer rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Handle all aspects of Lemon Law claims, from initial consultations through trial or settlement.
- Client Consultation: Provide legal advice and counsel to clients dealing with defective vehicles under California’s Lemon Law.
- Legal Representation: Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and, when necessary, in court.
- Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, demand letters, and settlement agreements.
- Discovery & Litigation: Manage discovery, conduct depositions, and engage in litigation to resolve claims.
- Settlement Negotiations: Negotiate settlements with manufacturers, dealerships, and other involved parties.
- Compliance & Research: Stay up-to-date on state and federal Lemon Law statutes and relevant case law.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active California State Bar membership.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Lemon Law, consumer protection law, or other related legal areas (candidates with relevant experience in other fields but interested in transitioning to Lemon Law are welcome).
- Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Excellent research, writing, and client management skills.
- A passion for consumer rights and eagerness to continue developing expertise in Lemon Law.
