Job Overview:
One of my clients is seeking a Systems Administration Manager to support a long-term federal-facing program based in Herndon, VA. This role plays a critical part in managing enterprise systems and driving key technical initiatives related to compliance, performance, and infrastructure reliability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration and leadership, with a focus on operational excellence, security, and DevOps collaboration. This is a great opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high-impact projects across a diverse technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support systems across enterprise and hybrid cloud environments
- Handle system configuration, OS installations, patching, and urgent updates
- Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline processes
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve disruptions
- Collaborate with security and operations teams to meet audit and compliance goals
- Review logs, address anomalies, and ensure secure system performance
- Lead technical initiatives across multiple customer environments
- Support DevOps practices and image hardening efforts
Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on systems administration experience
- Proven experience leading or managing technical projects
- Strong background in system configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, security standards, and compliance requirements
- SQL and database experience is a plus
- ERP system experience is a plus
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to project requirements
