DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates heavily in the New Product Development Process ensuring new printed circuit board assemblies are designed for manufacturing with appropriate component selection and PCB testability.
- Designs software test architecture to support new and existing products using Corelis JTag and National Instruments Software. TestStand knowledge is desired.
- Writes and updates test procedures for new and existing products and systems.
- Writes and verifies test software for functional test and ATE development.
- Designs test fixtures and equipment for new and existing products and systems.
- Designs, develops, and implements cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting new and existing products and systems.
- Interfaces with other engineers and management to develop test specifications and provide input on feasibility of proposed test, given current test equipment.
- Coordinates and oversees outside subcontractors test methods.
- Designs the test flow and equipment for new products.
- Participates and supports development of software architecture for new products
- Ensures that the cost of testing is controlled through effective hardware, software, or test methods and procedures.
- Determines test equipment and tests fixture needs and requirements.
- Resolves customer field problems by providing technical assistance by telephone or by traveling to the customer site.
- Participates in engineering design review for new and existing products.
- Acts as a project manager on the test plan development for new products and is responsible for a test plan that will encompass Production Test and Engineering Test.
REQUIREMENTS
- MSEE, BSEE or equivalent.
- 7 to 10 years of related experience in developing and implementing test plans for new products.
- Ability to determine test criteria from the product specification sheets, schematics, and other engineering information.
- Ability to draft schematics, assembly drawings, and printed circuit boards for test fixtures.
- Must have ability to write in advanced software languages.
- Must be proficient in the use of new test equipment, i.e. oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, frequency counter, DB meters.
- Must be proficient in test system software NI LabVIEW and Corelis JTag.
- Must be familiar with schematic entry tools, such as PADS Logic.
- Some digital/analog electronic design experience with microprocessors, programmable logic (CPLD, FPGA), programmable I/O and video systems is a desirable.
