Project Engineer
Participating in project design, documentation preparation and tracking submittals, RFI's, schedule updates and project logs.
Evaluating field problems, scheduling project meetings, and coordinating timely reviews by resolving onsite issues to increase overall margin on the project.
Researching necessary building permits and timely submit applications; follow-up review process to ascertain and receive approval.
Analyzing data such as engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders to understand scope of work for a project.
Monitoring onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
Occasional chairing of weekly job meeting to submit project progress and pending issues to project manager.
Source and solicit suppliers and subcontractors for bid proposals prior to submission deadlines for attaining new jobs.
Assisting project manager in pricing and reviewing changes to scope of work with the client and sub-contractors.
Comparing schedule of values against actual work performed to determine payments to contractors.
Overseeing projects with workforces ranging from 5 to 20 plus the sub-contractor workforces.
Closely working with the project manager in preparing change orders when necessary.
Ensuring strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements by filling site observation reports for multiple active construction sites.
