Packing Team Member

 Job Summary 

Here at Edibles Rex a healthy balanced meal for our children during school hours is extremely important to us. That's why we became one of the top meal providers for a number of local schools in the city of Detroit and surrounding areas.The School Meal Packer plays an important and crucial role in our efforts of getting all five food groups represented in the daily meals. 

The School Meal Packer that we are looking for will be responsible for packing, counting, and ensuring the correct products are packed for school meals. While maintaining a clean and safe work environment. 

Essential Job Functions 

• Good math skills, must be able to count items/meals daily, and have the ability to multi-task. 
• Practice the first in, first out method of products.
• Work well independently and in a team/group setting. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and change tasks and duties as needed. 
• Stack and pile finished goods into containers, and prepare goods for delivery. 
• Check and ensure items are damage free, mark and label crates and boxes properly with the correct products and delivery locations. 

Minimum Requirements

Must share our vision of professionalism, dedication and integrity. 

Must have the ability to show up to work on time each day scheduled and make a positive impact on the daily production. 

Must be able to work in timely manner, and get items needed to complete pack sheet order. 

Prior food service knowledge is preferred. Ability to work in other areas and on other projects as needed.

Strong attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to perform basic math equations and counts. 

Able to lift up to 30 pounds daily, have the ability to bend, lift, squat, and stand for long periods of time. 

High School Diploma or GED required. 

Work environment: 

Shipping and receiving dock, inside the building, sometimes outside the building, with doors and trailers opening and closing frequently.
