Edina Public Schools is seeking exceptional candidates with a proven record of success for an Elementary Principal position scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025, at Countryside Elementary School. With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision and core values, the Elementary Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership within the elementary building. Responsibilities include implementing educational and district initiatives at the building level and directing, supervising, and overseeing all school operations, personnel, and activities. The Elementary Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students, and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the district, its students and families, and in performing various public relation responsibilities within the community.
Qualifications: A master's degree in educational administration, educational leadership, or related area and a valid, Minnesota principal license are required. A minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience supervising and evaluating instructional programming and staff strongly preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience is required. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve school district goals. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish. An impressive instructional background and extensive experience in teacher evaluation are required.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a twelve-month position with an excellent compensation and benefits package. The 2025-2026 salary range is $169,319 to $187,461, depending on qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as flexible spending plans, and paid time off. All principals participate in the state’s pension program, the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA). In addition, principals can participate in the district’s 403(b) program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the Edina Administrative Council's collective bargaining agreement.
