Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement behavior management strategies and assist in their daily activities. This role is crucial in providing support and guidance to enhance the quality of life for our clients through tailored care plans and behavioral therapy techniques.
Duties
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervisor in the home, school, and/or community setting.
- Assist clients in daily living activities, promoting independence and skill development.
- Maintain accurate data collection and documentation of client progress and behaviors.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective behavior management strategies.
- Provide support during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and learning.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Proficiency in implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Strong ability to maintain medical documentation accurately and confidentially.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable, as well as a passion for assisting others in achieving their goals.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- valid driver's license and good driving record
- Eligibility for State Plice Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI clearance
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
