Position Summary:
The Activities Director is responsible for the overall direction of the care community’s activity program.
Position Responsibilities of Activities Director:
- Develops, coordinates and evaluates the activity programming within the care community
- Completes sections of the MDS and develops care plans that are specific to each resident
- Interviews new residents and their families to determine interests and abilities, family history and background.
- Responsible for the development and on-going success of the Volunteer program
- Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies to carry out activities
- Participates in the QAPI process
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her own professional competence
- Schedules and evaluates staff to ensure adequate program coverage, including weekend, evenings and holidays
- Responsible for creation and management of activity calendar
- Perform other duties as assign
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. College and/or clerical schooling preferred. Successful completion of Activity Director Course or 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program.
