- Perform tasks under the direct supervision of a certified teacher or teaching team.
- Release the teacher from routine tasks:
- Distributes and collects instructional materials.
- Catalogues, files and maintains necessary inventories.
- Reads to students, listens to students and participates in other forms of oral communication with students or groups of students.
- Helps students master instructional materials assigned by the teacher through distance, virtual or face to face environments.
- Maintains bulletin board and other displays as directed.
- Operates instructional equipment.
- Assists students in library as needed.
- Assists in preparation of materials in media center.
- Assists in supervision of students during lunch period(s), programs, on the playground and busing activity including field trips.
- Participates in in-services.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The role of the instructional aide is to assist the teacher in providing appropriate distance, virtual or face to face instruction. A cooperative working relationship must be maintained enabling the achievement of the assigned duties and afford a smooth, effective classroom operation.

Ability to work cooperatively with other supportive personnel, teachers, school administration and the public
