What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Parts Clerk position at Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District?
- High School graduate (preferred) or GED and at least one year of related experience
- Must to able to communicate (spoken and written) in English and Spanish.
- Ability to lift heavy items, stoop for extended periods and ability to climb stairs, ladders and step stools as needed.
- Applicant must possess office skills including advanced computer knowledge and usage.
- Cooperative, dependable with ability to get along with co-workers, Vendors, Drivers, Monitors and Supervisors.
- Hold a valid Texas Commercial Class B driver’s license (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Region One ESC certification for bus drivers
- Prepare and process documentation when delivering, receiving, transferring, or disposing of capital outlay equipment.
- Perform physical inventories of all fixed asset items and warehouse inventories.
- Assist in maintaining a log for receiving and delivering of all capital outlay equipment.
- Assist in maintaining and keeping inventory of warehouse supplies and fixed assets or capital assets equipment.
- Prepare and process work orders in regards to tools being used as loaners for shop use.
- Receiving, delivering, separating, and/or transferring of supplies and materials.
- Order fuel for District vehicle use at all three fueling sites using the accepted fuel purchase method
- Maintains accurate computerized inventory, ensuring the data reflects actual parts in stock.
- Purchase inventory to replace stock in coordination with proper purchase orders and accounts payable.
- Coordinates with Shop Supervisor and Head Mechanics to assure that inventory matches fleet needs.
- Maintains the physical inventory for parts and supplies on a quarterly basis.
- Receives all incoming merchandise and adds to the Service Finder software as needed.
- Maintains the Parts room and surrounding area in proper order, maintaining cleanliness.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The scope of his/her responsibilities is to assist with maintaining of warehousing activities in regards to capital outlay equipment, vehicle parts, lubricants, shipping / receiving, ordering parts, fuel, tool distribution, inventory control utilizing Service Finder software or other
applicable software and related inventory control.
