Summary/Objective
The CDL driver's objective is to safely and effectively operate a truck on public roads, customer sites, and company property. Must be able to understand the manifest and paperwork process. Must be able to communicate effectively with management, customers, and yard personnel. Must be able to comprehend basic instructions from a supervisor.
Position Type
This is a full-time position. Hours may vary daily based on the needs of customers and workload. There are frequent early days, late evenings, and overtime is required. Weekend work may be available as workload allows.

Competencies
The CDL Driver Must
- Have a DOT/HAZMAT license, along with 2 years of CDL driving experience.
- Be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Be able to load and unload trucks (liquid and drum).
- Understand the customer manifesting/paperwork process.
- Be able to communicate effectively with customers.
- Be able to communicate effectively with management, dispatch, and yard personnel.
- Have time-management skills.
- Be team oriented.
- Have adaptive/organization skills.
The CDL driver position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions
The CDL driver:
- Communicates with customers for pickups and deliveries.
- Communicates with dispatch and yard personnel on loading/unloading of trucks.
- Is DOT certified to drive with a clean driving record.
- Keeps trucks clean, inside and out.
- Keeps trucks inspected to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Performs minor testing on waste in field.
- Performs minor repairs on trucks.
- Communicates unsafe conditions on trucks to dispatch.
- Inspects hoses, straps, or any other equipment on trucks to keep in working condition.
- Comprehends and fills out paperwork properly.
- Keeps daily driver logs updated and accurate.
The CDL driver's work environment is predominantly driving, outdoors, and away from the yard at customer facilities.
Physical Demands
The CDL Driver
- Is on their feet most of the day when not driving.
- Must be able to climb up and down from trucks multiple times daily.
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders on trucks multiple times daily.
- DOT license with HAZMAT endorsement (and other endorsements as needed)
- Industry training
- 2 years of driving experience
- US work authorization
