Description
Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the part-time, as needed position of Leadership Trainer - Workforce Development Instructor (Occasional, as needed). This position will provide instruction on an occasional, as-needed basis for Leadership/Supervisor Development workshops. The leadership trainer will design and deliver dynamic training programs aimed at developing the skills and potential of emerging leaders.

Examples of Duties
Functional Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Assistant Dean and Workforce Development office staff including the Coordinator of Client Relations & Program Outreach.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the content and techniques, in terms of what is to be communicated, what is important, and how it applies.
- Delivers content as outlined in the facilitator materials.
- Facilitates instruction to customers and manage records and schedules.
- Maintains student records and enters grades, when appropriate.
- Leads and guides the learning process of the participants.
- Accomplishes learning objectives within the scheduled time frame; keeps on track while being sensitive to participant needs.
- Prepares and organizes charts, presentations, and other visual aids so that appearance, legibility, and content enhance learning.
- Assesses organizational needs, creates customized content, and provides ongoing coaching to ensure effective leadership growth and organizational success.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications:
- Possesses a broad understanding of leadership development models, strategies, and best practices to effectively train and develop leaders.
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills Training or teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in Curriculum Design and Instructional Methodology.
- Strong capability to build relationships, provide constructive feedback, and mentor individuals to enhance their leadership potential.
- Adaptability and Problem-Solving Skills.
Required Knowledge in Most or all of the Following Technical Areas:
- Ability to develop relationships virtually through audio and written interfaces.
- Technology skills for online learning platforms.
- Computer knowledge and applications for presentation software.
- The ideal candidate will exhibit strong conflict management skills with the ability to respond positively to criticism/negative input, and focus on accomplishing the learning objectives.
Required Experience:
- At least five (5) years of serving in a leadership role.
- Experience in a training and development environment is recommended.
Supplemental Information
Hourly Rate:
$50/hour during facilitation/instruction, $25/hour for pre-approved preparatory work or during approved training.
Other:
- Instructor resources and professional development opportunities are available.
- Occasional evening or weekend instruction may be required, as needed.
- Periodic travel to regional campuses and to employer sites both within and outside our service area may be necessary.

Retirement Benefits
Edison State Community College participates in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) and the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). Based upon the Ohio Revised Code, the following regulations will be followed:
PERS Positions: 10% of an Edison State employee's gross salary is submitted to OPERS. The college contributes an additional 14% which is not figured into the employee's base pay.
STRS Positions: 14% of an Edison State employee's gross salary is submitted STRS. The college contributes an additional 14% which is not figures into the employee's base pay.
