This remote work position will be based in the DC metro area and is responsible for delivering high quality project results that provide value to the client; ensures high levels of client satisfaction; manages conference team, subcontractors and vendors, meets or exceeds project budget and profitability objectives; and pursues opportunities for additional business.

Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Managing and overseeing the day to day activities for the planning and implementation of multiple concurrent events ranging in size up to 3,000 attendees.

- Preparing and monitoring project budgets, work plans, schedules and status reports
- Managing conference team
- Developing standard operating procedures for large scale event support event support
- Managing and interface with clients
- Some non-local travel required
- Overseeing contract invoicing
- Participating in proposal writing and development
- Marketing for new business
- Having the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with attention to general details and client specifications
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or CGMP required
Experience:
- Understanding of federal contracting rules and regulations - required
- Knowledge of international travel regulations
- Knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations
The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:
- 10 or more years experience in planning Federal government meetings. Must have knowledge of federal contracting rules and regulations
- 5 or more years direct experience in managing Federal government contracts
- 5 or more years of project management experience
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent management of people through coaching and delegation
- Proven leadership ability, customer service and analytical skills
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures
- Strong process and management skills; strategic and creative problem-solving skills
- Works efficiently in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt quickly to change
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve sensitive and complex issues
- Able to work well with all levels of management, staff, outside clients, and vendors
- Proficient with budget and work plan development in the Federal Government sector
- Proficient with Cvent – or equivalent online registration software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, Outlook, Word and especially Excel
