POSITION OVERVIEW
About the Position
We are looking for individuals who are passionate and enthusiastic about sports and kids! Skyhawks, established in 1979, offers a variety of sports to kids ages 4-14 along with life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect. If you have experience coaching sports and love working with kids, then considering applying to coach with Skyhawks for this summer.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
- 1 year or more coaching and/or working with kids
Other Requirements
- Must possess or have the ability to possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card by the time of hire.
- Cellphone for communication
Preferred Requirements
- 2 or more years coaching and/or working with kids.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Works with Site Leader and co-workers to plan, organize, and direct a variety of recreational and educational activities for students grades K-8.
- Outlining all rules, core tactics, and accompanying expectations.
- Teaching sports-related rules and procedures.
- Bolstering teamwork and camaraderie.
- Encourage safe sports practices
- Modeling and encouraging diligence, adherence to sporting guidelines, and commendable sportsmanship.
- Safeguarding sports players from avoidable injuries by instilling appropriate techniques.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the children, parents, school staff and other community members.
- Maintains discipline, safety, and control of children and site.
- Maintains an environment that promotes cooperation, learning, and enjoyment.
- Maintains daily attendance and records, scheduling and implementing daily activities, distributing daily snacks, and assisting in any manner as requested.
- Encourages high participation of students in daily activities and planning process. Assists all visiting instructors.
- Assists with daily set-up/ take-down of centers which includes lifting/carrying tables, chairs, boxes, etc.
- Attends all staff training.
- Assures quality indicators of selected (AZ Case/Quality First Standards) accreditation as well-known and adhered to by staff.
Other Functions
- Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Working Conditions
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
