POSITION OVERVIEW
About the Position
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and ASRS.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelors degree in HR or related field
Experience
- Two years of experience in benefits administration
Other Requirements
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Level One Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card by the time of hire
Combination Statement
- Benefits administration experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in benefits administration
- Benefits administration experience in a school capacity
- Experience working in UKG HRIS
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Benefit Plan-related questions and issues addressing eligibility, compliance, and annual audit requirements for all Edkey Inc. employees.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.\
- Assists with new-hire orientations.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Meet with new employees to review benefit options, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the invoice reconciliation process, including the review of enrollment and termination data.
- Act as a key point of contact during the annual open enrollment process, including project management, and communications.
- Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, 5500’s and IRS regulations and other required reporting.
- Prepare benefit and wellness-related communications and presentations.
- Prepare and facilitate required benefit audits.
- Understand and use qualitative/quantitative measurement to evaluate and advise on internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Work with HR Directors, insurance broker, plan vendors, and internal/external customers.
- Primary point of contact for any benefits administration matters.
- Manges TRP (Trip Reduction Program) for Edkey Inc.
- Use data to create reports to provide to HR Directors for project plans.
- Manage workers’ compensation program, including serving on organization safety committee.
- Manage and track Family Medical Leaves, Military Leaves, Life Events and company leaves.
- Works in conjunction with payroll for all benefit and ASRS related payments.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Working Conditions
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position regularly works in an office setting. Occasionally will travel to school locations for presentations.
