What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESS Paraprofessional position at Edkey, Inc.?
Education
- High School diploma or GED with Proof of successfully passing Paraprofessional Praxis Assessment (approved by the ADE)
OR
- Sixty (60) college course credits from an accredited institution of higher learning
OR
- Associates college degree or higher
Other Requirements
- Must possess the ability to hold/obtain a Valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card by the time of hire.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Assist in instructional activities with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
- Assist the teacher with planned activities including instructional programs
- Record and file statistical data, grades and reports
- Assist classroom teacher in maintaining individual student records
- Assist in supervising students in the classroom, lunchroom and on the playground under the supervision of a staff member
- Presents subject matter to students; utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion and supervised role-playing under the supervision of the teacher
- Work closely with students individually or in small groups, as directed by the supervising teacher
- Provide input in selecting activities appropriate to the abilities, needs and interests of the students
- Assist in maintaining the classroom in a functional, attractive and orderly environment (i.e. bulletin board, displays, posters, etc.)
- Assist the teacher in complying with I.E.P requirements and objectives
- Reinforce behavioral expectations as directed by the classroom teacher
- Manage discipline issues in accordance with administrative regulations, board policies and legal requirements
Working Conditions
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
